If you have added your badge successfully to your site, this would mean that you website content is now protected against theft. If you are unsure that you have added your badge to your website successfully, here are a few things you can try to make sure it’s working properly.

Using tool http://web-sniffer.net/ can be used to test whether or not our crawler will be able to locate the badge.

  1. Place your website address where you have entered the badge code.
  2. Enter your Captcha and click on submit.
  3. You should get a HTTP Response Header with a Status: HTTP/1.1 200 OK
  4. On your keyboard, press CRTL + F and look for “DMCA”.
  5. You should find our badge code in that html code. If you can't find it there, our crawlers probably can't either.
  6. Make certain the protection badge HTML code on your website / webpage is the exact same HTML code on the badge version located on the badges list when you are logged into the DMCA Protection Portal. They must match.

Checking your badge from your website.

  1. From your website, click on the badge that you have added and this should take you to your certificate. If you get the Protection Status Unavailable, you might want to check back in a few hours. Note: If you want to know more on this message, please go to Why does my DMCA.com Website Protection Certificate say “Protection Status Unavailable “?
  2. Verify your Protection start date, last checked and page title.

If all of this is met, all of your sites will start populating on your Site Protected Page list. Your visitors will now need to click on the badges from your website so all of your site pages are protected. Opening the link directly will not do anything as the Crawling systems will not run.
